I heard the waves break on the sand, I heard them break just before me in the water and when I came home I heard them break in the valley, the eco cradled by the mountains.

Surf was recently introduced in Switzerland at the bottom of the white peaks. A place where surf naturally doesn’t belong, where all natural elements oppose to the surfer, the absence of a sea, the extreme cold temperatures. A new community is born from here piecing the sea surfer with a new pool surfer in the vastness and immensity of the mountains. The sea surfer will live along the rythme of the wind and the tides, he has been tamed to the flow of nature. The new pool surfer is free to surf in comfort in any weather condition that he wishes. Today it is a union of these two worlds that has inspired me to represent what I have lived through.

Aarons never used a stylist, or a makeup artist. He made his career out of what he called "photographing attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places." Slim Aarons is one of the first photographers I stumbled upon, hence his work has stayed with me ever since. It opened a new window for me, I could turn what I was seeing and experiencing with my community into a work of art of luxury and elegance. Today with my photographic understanding and experience I think I was able to piece together my vision, inspired by his creations, that I present to you in this project “Endless Winter”.

All works are available for print. Contact me for price and dimensions.
